NS Records
What are NS records? Why are they vital for your domain?
The Name Servers of a domain point out the DNS servers that handle its DNS records. The IP address of the web site (A record), the mail server that deals with the e-mails for a domain (MX records), any text record in free form (TXT record), forwarding (CNAME record) etc are taken from the DNS servers of the hosting provider and for any domain name to be using them and to be directed to their hosting platform, it should have their name servers, or NS records. If you wish to open a website, for instance, and you input the URL, the browser connects to a DNS server, which keeps the NS records for the domain name and the request is then sent to the DNS servers of the hosting provider where the A record of the web site is retrieved, so you can see the content from the right location. Commonly a domain has two name servers that start with NS or DNS as a prefix and the difference between the two is only visual.

NS Records in Cloud Web Hosting
When you use a Linux cloud web hosting from our company and you add a new domain address in the account or transfer an existing one from another provider, you're going to be able to control its NS records with ease via the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with all shared accounts. You can change the current name servers or enter additional ones for a single domain address or even for many domain addresses at a time with several clicks. This is done via the feature-rich Domain Manager tool which is a part of Hepsia and the user-friendly interface will make it simple to handle your domain name even if it's the first you've ever registered. It requires just a click to see what name servers a domain address uses at the moment or if they are the correct ones to direct a domain name to the hosting space on our end and with a few clicks more you are going to even be able to register private name servers for any of the domains that you own. For the latter option you can use the IP addresses of any company that you want the new NS records to direct to.
- NS Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our semi-dedicated server accounts are managed through Hepsia - an all-in-one tool with incredibly user-friendly interface, which will allow you to handle your domain addresses with ease even if you have never used a hosting account or a domain name in the past. Changing the NS records for each domain name registered using our company, viewing the current ones and whether they are right or not as to forward that domain name to our cloud hosting platform is also very simple and requires only a couple of clicks. You'll also be able to register child name servers under each and every one of your domain addresses as a part of the free DNS administration services which we provide with each and every plan and have ns1.your-domain.com and ns2.your-domain.com. The latter can be used for every domain name that you accommodate inside the semi-dedicated account, so if you provide services to third-parties and host their web sites, employing this feature will give you more credibility as a business. - NS Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting
